Leading the way with innovative digital products for the home, Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital consumer electronics, unveils the HT-DS1000 home cinema system, which combines elegant styling with state-of-the-art digital technology.

The vertical floor-standing DVD player matches with floor-standing speakers and a slim DLP TV, which can be rested on a shelf, creating uniformity in sleek design and remarkable versatility.

The HT-DS1000 features HDMI technology, which supports standard, enhanced, and high-definition video, as well as multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.

"Smaller and easier to use, the HDMI connection is optimal for AV applications. The sophisticated progressive scanning function reproduces sharper images while the 650-watt speakers feature Dolby Surround Pro Logic II support," said Mr. B.W. Lee, President and CEO, Samsung MEAHQ.

"As a digital convergence leader, Samsung is always pushing the boundaries of product versatility and design. With the launch of our Combo Home Theatre System, we are ready to empower our consumers with a whole new world of digital entertainment," added Mr. Lee.

For the highest-quality sound, HT-DS1000 is equipped with Samsung's proprietary digital signal processing technology - sDSM - Super Digital Sound Master, which is composed of ASC (Auto Sound Calibration), LSM (Live Surround Mode) and Virtual Headphone.

ASC enables listeners to enjoy sound by simply pressing an auto setup button. By adjusting signal tones from six speakers, the best sound environment is automatically created, regardless of where the listener is sitting. The Super 5.1 channel function converts any 2 channel stereo sound into 5.1 channel surround sound so that listeners can enjoy life-like 5.1 channel surround impact. With the Virtual Headphones, listeners can enjoy perfect 5.1 channel surround sound using ordinary headphones without disturbing others.

HT-DS1000 offers the best video and audio performance that high technology provides combined with a stunning appearance.
