US grants Jordan USD139m

The US has granted USD139m to cash-strapped Jordan, according to an official statement. Economic assistance of USD349m has been promised to Jordan by the US for 2004. The latest cash injection will strengthen foreign exchange reserves and help reduce the debt burden.
