Remarking on the superior quality and competitiveness of Italian products, Prof. Manuela Del Lago pointed out, "The ingenuity, innovativeness and superior craftsmanship of Italy's specialised artisans have made a myriad of Italian products symbols of sophistication, luxury and style throughout the world.

"At the same time, the enterprise and business acumen of the thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises predominating the Italian economy, which have prospered by developing niche specialisation both in Italy and globally, have made Italy a world leader in many product segments," she said.

Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan said, "We at Expo Centre Sharjah are exploring different areas of co-operation to benefit from the synergies of the Vicenza Fair of Italy and our exhibitions and programmes. Our ultimate goal is to enhance the trade and investment co-operation between the two countries."

Elected President of Vicenza Province in 1997, Prof. Manuela Del Lago has brought the Vicenza Province two European Union Projects, on tackling pollution and enviornment defence. She has been re-elected President of Vicenza Province in 2002.
