The Ethiopian Foreign Minister announced that they are establishing a consulate in Dubai in may this year, as well as a trade office with the aim to consolidate and strengthen economic relations between Ethiopia and Dubai in particular, and the whole region in generals.

The Ethiopian minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be sending delegations on a regular basis to Dubai to develop the trade and investment dialogue between the two sides.

H.E Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, the 2nd Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry affirmed the importance for Dubai's trading partners to participate in the regional and international exhibitions set up in Dubai throughout the year, covering most sectors, as it is the first step for countries wishing to promote their goods and services in Dubai's markets and the region.

"Participation in these exhibitions would help Ethiopia to promote what it has on offer of investment and commercial projects" said Al Shamsi upon receiving an Ethiopian commercial delegation headed by H.E Seyoum Mesfin, the Foreign Affairs Minister. "It would also establish communication channels between Ethiopian businessmen and their counterparts of participants in the exhibitions", added Mr. Al Shamsi.
