- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, March 25 - 2004 at 11:16
- PRESS RELEASE
The Irish Village, Dubai's popular watering hole, and the intimate Italian trattoria, La Vigna at Century Village have scooped two culinary awards in this week's What's On Restaurant Awards 2004.
"We are absolutely thrilled with our success - a double honour for The Aviation Club. This is the third year running that The Irish Village has won Favourite Pub Grub, and a first for La Vigna's Italian menu. The accolades are a testament to the high standards in food and beverage that we constantly strive for here at The Aviation Club, and underlines our position as Dubai's number one place for gastronomy," said Gerard Kearney, General Manager of The Aviation Club which houses both The Irish Village and Century Village.
The Irish Village, one of Dubai's best loved spots is set in a mock village with a large paved courtyard. Food favourites include traditional fish and chips, and bangers and mash - alongside Irish delights such as Irish stew or colcannon. Meanwhile, La Vigna and Sushi Sushi are just two of the eight restaurants offering impeccable cuisine in the cosmopolitan Century Village setting.
The award ceremony was staged earlier this week at Dubai Media City in the presence of over 800 of the hospitality industry's movers, shakers and decision-makers.
