- PRESS RELEASE
Swiss International Air Lines, Switzerland's national carrier, has launched an e-booking solution through its regional office in Dubai.
SWISS customers have always been able to benefit from best prices through www.swiss.com and www.travelswiss.com, SWISS' UAE travel portal. Free delivery of the tickets to customers, creates a time and cost-effective solution for passengers travelling to Switzerland and beyond.
Speaking of the new e-booking initiative, Felix Rodel, Area Manager for the Middle East, Pakistan and Iran, said: "We have seen an 10 percent growth in e-ticket purchases from our UAE website over the last year and the trend has continued during the first quarter of 2004. We wanted to ensure that our new system would provide customers with the best option on pricing, the convenience of e-booking and the choice of having the ticket delivered to them prior to departure or available for collection at the airport."
"Since the airlines launch in March 2002, SWISS has continually looked to adapt its offering to the needs of customers. The new e-booking initiative will allow customers to deal directly with SWISS, from the convenience of their home or office."
www.swiss.com and www.travelswiss.com also provides passengers with a wealth of information, such as visa requirements for Switzerland, and a download form for visa application. SWISS also provides Gateway Dubai a ground transport service for passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi. The sites also provide information on special deals to destinations outside Switzerland, such as SWISS Partner Promotion and SWISS Spring Savers.
SWISS flies to 72 destinations in 44 countries under the current schedule. In the Middle East, SWISS operates a total of 25 weekly flights including daily non-stop flights from Dubai, five weekly flights from Cairo, four times from Karachi, three times from Jeddah, Riyadh and Muscat.
