Iraq, 25pc GDP growth in 2004

Iraq's GDP will boom by at least 25 per cent this year, predicts Standard Chartered Bank. Regional Economist Daniel Hanna told journalists that this was a conservative estimate with US investments more than 100 per cent of GDP. The Iraqi dinar is a barometer of economic health and is up from 5,000 to 1,200 to the US dollar, he added.
