Middle East Conference on Business Continuity will focus on practical implementation
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 28 - 2004 at 12:00
- PRESS RELEASE
At the Middle East Conference on Business Continuity (BC), top business continuity professionals will reveal how Business Continuity Plans have been implemented in their organisations.
Nowadays, no organisation is immune to interruption from natural, technical or human triggers and an effective business continuity plan is the first step in arming an organisation with the best line of defence against the inevitable.
"There is a renewed urgency to bullet-proof the business and develop a realistic strategy for overcoming threats and disasters. Organisations are now being challenged to position themselves for potential opportunities as well as planning for the worst across all aspects of the business," says Barth de Ridder, Group Director of IIR Conferences & Training.
"For this event we have intentionally limited the conference to one day and increased the number of workshops to three, to maximise practical learning opportunities. We also did not want to focus on vendor and supplier presentations so participants will get an unbiased view of opportunities and threats that are facing them."
The four day event is supported by Shell International, Kingswell International, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Sainsbury's Supermarkets, Edelman and Jannaway & Associates and will provide a clear strategy and uncomplicated solutions that will help in designing a strong crisis and business continuity management framework for an organisation.
The three separately bookable workshops are presented by leading business continuity experts: 1. Enterprise Continuity Management, integrates business continuity planning with enterprise risk management to achieve operational resilience in unprecedented times; 2. Designing and Developing an Effective Disaster Recovery Plan, helps to understand why many plans fail and shows how to avoid these mistakes by following DRII and BCI standards; 3. Auditing and Evaluating your Business Continuity Programme, ensures the continuing effectiveness of the programme and identifies any deficiencies.
