FutureIT and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait sign a key sponsorship agreement

Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, the regional leader in banking and financial services, and Creative Knowledge, the premier event management organization, today announced that Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait will be the 'Platinum Sponsor' of the Second Annual FutureIT 2004 Conference and Exhibition.

Speaking at the signing ceremony Mr. Abdulwahid Janahi, Assistant General Manager of BBK said, "Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait is dedicated to providing innovative and technology-driven financial products and services to our customer community of the region. At BBK, technology has been an integral part of our overall vision and growth. We believe that investment in new technologies will add lasting value to the overall customer experience and we have been long known to be the industry leader in successfully harnessing technology that provides convenience, prudent cost management and most important of all, excellence in customer service. Our recent initiatives in this regard have been the eCall Center, Mobile Banking, online loan applications (branded as enteractive loans), push and pull SMS banking and the Portal".

Abdul Wahid further added, "The Portal is a very dynamic state-of-the-art service whereby the customers of the Bank can personalize the pages according to their needs and requirements, and can communicate with the Bank on one-to-one basis. It is a comprehensive online service that includes all BBK related products and services. It allows the customers online transaction at and from their convenient time and place. The Portal goes even beyond providing only BBK's available products and services; It also includes a range of up-to-date general information such as financial markets indices and others."

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Waleed Kanoo, the CEO of Creative Knowledge said, "Information Technology and the business of banking have been interwoven so much, that it is now impossible for banks to succeed without implementing latest technologies. Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait has been a leader in bringing emerging technologies into their products and services. We are pleased to note that with the supportive partnership of BBK and its illustrious management, FutureIT 2004 Conference and Exhibition is strongly positioned as the premier annual IT event in the region".

Also present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Khalid Abdulla, Assistant General Manager of BBK, Mr. Khalid Al Khateb, Manager, Business Development at BBK, and Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy, the Chairman of Bahrain Internet Society.

About FutureIT 2004 Conference & Exhibition
The Second Annual FutureIT 2004 Conference and Exhibition will be held under the patronage of HE Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh, Minister of Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The 4-day event shall take place at the Gulf International Exhibition Centre of the Gulf Hotel from the 9th to the 12th of May 2004. The event, which is being held for the second consecutive year after the outstanding success of FutureIT 2003, features a three-day IT Conference and IT Exhibition, and, a three-parallel post-conference Workshops. The event is held in association with the Bahrain Internet Society.
