The two-day international event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the UAE Minister of Finance and Industry.

DTCM Manager Events, Mr. Marwan bin Beyat, said the department will be hosting tours for the participants to offer them the unique opportunity to watch the present facilities and upcoming developments in Dubai. They will also get a chance to enjoy the Arabian hospitality.

He said: "Dubai has been a pioneer in tourism development in the region. DTCM has been successful in promoting Dubai in overseas markets and has worked towards achieving the vision of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Minister of Defense and DTCM Chairman."

Dubai enjoys international interest as a major sporting destination in the world and hosts many international sporting events like Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai World Cup, and Dubai Open Tennis.

Thanks to the efforts of the DTCM, Dubai popularity as a year-round tourist and business centre is increasing. Last year, Dubai hotels posted five per cent growth when the number of guests staying in the emirate's world-class properties almost touched the five million mark.

The Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship has been supported and promoted by the department through its participation in the ITB-2004 in Berlin and Visitors Information Bureaus (VIBs) in Dubai.
