Unprecedented sales of these models have set a new benchmark in the Middle East region for luxury family sedan and sports sedan segments.

The company's record achievement was marked by a visiting delegation from the General Motors (GM) Holden headquarters in Australia, represented by Peter Keley, Director - Exports, Holden Australia, and Kristian Aquilina, Export Manager - Middle East, Holden Australia.

Commenting on the occasion, Kersie Polad, Managing Director of Al Yousuf Motors, stated: "Over the last two years, Chevrolet has outsold its nearest rivals by a straight margin of 26.8 percent in the lower Gulf region - no mean achievement in a marketplace that is stiff with competition.

"We believe that our dedication to pre and after sales customer service, our wide selection of Chevrolet models and our range of tailor-made solutions for the various automotive needs of the community has been key to our success. We strive to bring thoughtful and satisfying customer service initiatives to the region, to set the standard for others to follow," he said.

"The growth in Chevrolet sales in the UAE has been very encouraging in recent years," said Chris Probert, Brand Manager - Chevrolet, Caprice and Lumina, GM Middle East. "We sincerely congratulate Al Yousuf on their role in that growth and look forward to further joint successes."

Al Yousuf's sales teams were taking orders and addressing enquiries about the Lumina Coupe well before it was launched. The models have now been on sale for almost ten months and Al Yousuf continues to receive an average of 10 calls and host over 15 walk-in customers every day.

Al Yousuf attributes the model's popularity to the Lumina's impressive performance, competitive pricing, sleek styling and extensive features. Al Yousuf's dedicated customer services and innovative promotions are also seen as key driving factors. "We are presently running a special Free Insurance campaign for the Lumina Coupe, which continue to attract walk-in customers to our showroom - even among those who are not familiar with its outstanding performance," added Polad.

Based on their success in 2003, Al Yousuf Motors have set their 2004 sales forecasts at 33 percent higher this year, with supporting sales figures for January and February already indicating that the targets are well on the way to being achieved.

Al Yousuf Motors displays the widest range of Lumina models at its state-of-the art showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Dedicated to offering the highest levels of pre and after-sales customer services, Al Yousuf's grand-scale, fully air-conditioned and equipped workshop - the largest of its kind in the Middle East - offers superior levels of after-sales support even in the hottest months.
