i-mate launches Smartphone2 in the Middle East

i-mate, industry innovators of end-to-end wireless device solutions and globally head quartered at Dubai Internet City, announces the launch of the new i-mate Smartphone2 in the Middle East and showcases the value-added features of club i-mate - the brand's online community marketplace for its device users.

Founder and CEO of Carrier Devices, Jim Morrison, who was a pioneer of the original converged wireless device, believes 2004 is the year wireless solutions will gain real momentum.

The new i-mate™ Smartphone2 is based on the Windows Mobile™ platform from Microsoft® and enables access to much of the same information on a desktop PC such as emails, calendar and contacts. This GSM/GPRS based mobile has one of the most extensive list of features available in a compact mobile today including triband access, Windows Media Player 9, Bluetooth™ V1.1 compatible, a built in digital camera with zoom and video recorder, MMS, a sharp 64K full colour screen, a generous 32MB user memory and a secure digital slot for an SD or Wifi card. It's one of most versatile phones in market giving the highly mobile professional the tools they need to get on with business whilst away from the office.

The Middle East region market will particularly welcome the IMAGiNET developed Arabic features of the i-mate™ Smartphone2. An English ROM build, many applications are Arabic enabled including SMS, Hijri Calendar and notes, an Arabic-English/English-Arabic dictionary and a comprehensive Prayer Times application with on-screen reminders.

Club i-mate™ is the new home where product users can personalize and customize their i-mate™ Windows Mobile™ Pocket PC, Phone Edition and Smartphone OS devices. This virtual club empowers i-mate™ device users by liberating them from their office PCs and laptops via a direct-to-device wireless world-wide one-stop community. Valued at over US$200, membership to club i-mate™ is free with the purchase of one of the company's innovative wireless devices.

Membership benefits include i-mate™ community forums allowing you to communicate with other i-mate™ device users, device support showcasing instructional videos and additional email accounts with email notifications sent directly to your i-mate™ device via SMS. Also on offer are numerous downloads for free software applications, as well as 120 music songs, 100 ring tones and 130 themes and backgrounds.
