Mr. Isam Al Saqer, Deputy CEO at NBK said that wining the awards reassures the bank's strong financial and Banking ability locally and regionally. He added, NBK's performance during 2003 was outstanding. The bank reported a net profit of USD 412 million for 2003.
NBK was the only Arabic bank that gets banking licence from the Central Bank of Iraq to operate in Iraq. An executive from the magazine attributes this achievement to NBK's diversified earning base, financial strength, growing regional influence and improved performance in all areas of operations both in Kuwait and the Middle East.

NBK has long been distinguished by having the highest financial strength rating among all banks in the Middle East as well as the Emerging Market banks from international rating agencies including Moody's, Standard & Poor's and FitchRatings.
NBK awarded Best Bank in Kuwait and Best Bank in the Middle East
Global Finance, the international financial magazine, named National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) the 'Best Bank in Kuwait and the Best Bank in the Middle East and Africa for 2004'. The awards were announced in Global Finance's issue commending the region's best banks.
