The primary objectives of this intensive course are the development of spreadsheet engineering and model design skills, the exposure to advanced spreadsheet functions including macros and database features and the development of financial professionals making use of such tools as data analysis, forecasting, optimization and simulation.
The course content covers as varied topics as spreadsheets for financial products, features and techniques for better spreadsheets, forecasting models, bond analysis, embedded derivatives and structural products and pricing derivatives. Additional topics will be added based on a pre-course questionnaire.
'The course will be an interactive mix of lectures, demonstrations, hand-on model building and real-world case studies. It is targeted at individuals who are already versed with spreadsheets and are actively involved in the finance industry or aware of typical financial applications,' said Dr. Doaa Fares, Etisalat Academy General Manager.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to develop and build user friendly spreadsheet models that are debugged and error free, utilize real time date or are easy updated from external sources for a variety of financial applications.
The Academy is currently holding a CPA review course, which includes, among others, live lectures, continuous exercises, end-of-modules tests, progress monitoring and exam hints and techniques. It is held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain respectively. It organized recently a ceremony to honour a number of CPA certified national accountants.
In addition, Etisalat Academy launched the Certified Accountant Technician (CAT) training course for high-school diploma holders in conjunction the British Federation of Accountants. The programme, held over one year, attracts many young professionals belonging to the private sector and government departments.
