DM honours people behind the set up of their stall in Global Village

Dubai Municipality's Public Transport Department on Sunday honoured the establishments and companies who supported the stall set up by the department at the Global Village during the Dubai Shopping Festival 2004.
Hailing the growing partnership between the government and private sector, Malik said that it will help create a beautiful city. He said the Public Transport Department stall set up at the Global Village with the help of private sector, was visited by 150,000 people during the shopping festival.
"The stall received tremendous attraction from the public as there were many exciting activities such as spot competitions, magic shows, drawing competitions and fun games," he said.
Malik said the stall distributed 50,000 pocket calendars of the department, 45,000 bus time tables and 2,000 posters at the stall. "In addition to this, we had a big sale of our e-go cards at the stall. We also distributed a good number of brochures about the department at the stall," he added.
Al Zarouni said the Public Transport Department is at the threshold of development as the total number of bus routes have increased to 58 after the introduction two new routes recently. He said the total length covered by these routes will be 150,000kms.
Al Zarouni said the special bus service from Global Village to different destinations run during the Dubai Shopping Festival was a huge success.
"We received an overwhelming response from the passengers. In the first fortnight itself, the services was used by 250,000 people and at the end of the festival, this number rose up to 327,000 passengers," said Al Zarouni.
He also thanked all those companies who sponsored the activities at the department stall at the Global Village that included Al Murad Group, Signman, UAE Exchange and Design Image, in addition to the DSF and Global Village administration.
Al Shamsi distributed the gifts and certificates to the representatives of these companies and the DSF and Global Village administration.
He also gave away gifts to the winners in the children's drawing competition held as part of the activities of the Global Village stall.
