- PRESS RELEASE
Leading Middle East television network Showtime has signed an exclusive long term supply agreement with Universal Studios for pay-TV movies and primetime television series.
Peter Einstein, Showtime president and chief executive, said: "Every night a top Hollywood title is broadcast during primetime because Showtime has the exclusive broadcast rights to the largest range of Hollywood studio productions. Showtime's movie portfolio is unrivalled and the upcoming schedules are simply a movie-lover's dream. If you want to see a movie, you'll see it first on Showtime.
"With 17 channels of movies showing 24 hours of every day, Showtime offers an unbeatable choice of films with over 1,400 new film titles appearing every year at an average of four new movies every day."
Movietime, the latest exclusive film channel launched on Showtime in March, also benefits from access to Universal's modern library. TV Land, Showtime's action series channel, will feature Universal first run and library series including Law And Order: Criminal Intent and Xena: Warrior Princess.
Showtime leads in all key television programming categories; movies, primetime series, documentaries, music and kids, and delivers a competitive sports offer driven by the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel's exclusive broadcasts of the Italian Serie A football and Showtime Sport's live coverage of rugby, golf and European soccer.
The 24 hour a day channel has been added at no extra cost for Movies Plus and Total Plus Showtime subscribers and, like all movie channels on the network, films are uncut and unedited with no commercial interruption and complete with Arabic subtitling.
