  • PRESS RELEASE

Marconi Middle East (MME) will be participating in the inaugural Saudi Security Exhibition in Riyadh from the 11-14th April at the King Fahd Security College.

This event comes at time of heightened security in the Kingdom due to the threats that terrorists provide to the citizens of the country.

MME has a portfolio of security & surveillance solutions to offer, based on leading edge technology that enables integration of end systems onto a single communications network. This includes integration of end-systems such as CCTV cameras, access control devices, fire detection systems and command & control systems onto a single network, which can then be operated from a control room or remotely. This solution is known as the Network Based Physical Security Solution (NBPSS).

"We at Marconi believe that our security solutions portfolio, based on leading edge communications technology, is a comprehensive one and is an ideal vision for not only the KSA government, but governments across the region to adopt in order to ensure the safety and well being of its citizens.", said Fadhil Alibrahim, Marconi Middle East Chairman. He further remarked, "Marconi's philosophy is to be a total solutions provider for the customer and serve the region in meeting its security needs."

The showpiece in Marconi's portfolio is the "Saudi InterSceptre" system. This a hi-tec digital solution that enables vehicle detection by using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology. By early and accurate detection of suspect vehicles or ones that have been involved in criminal activities, the police and security authorities are assisted in their pursuit of bringing criminals to justice.

Furthermore, the concept can be used as a fully automated speed-enforcement system, by identifying offenders by linking the vehicle number plate to the Kingdom's vehicle and driver's database. Notification and payment of speeding penalties can be notified by several means of communications, i.e. mobile phone, Internet or special kiosks in public areas, that is linked to the database.
