Ministry of Finance conducts training for 128 ministry employees

In its continuous endeavor towards a high performance The Ministry of Finance and Industry (MoFI) organized a training session on the latest electronic program formulated for performance based budgeting (PBB).

The training was attended by 128 of government employees from different institutions.

Mr. Saeed Rashid El Yateem, Director of the Budget Department said: "This training is meant to bring all government employees up to speed regarding the new methods of reporting the budget within the framework of the Performance Based Budgeting. It is an enhanced program that reflects on the progression of the nation in general."

"Mr. Emmanuel Cuvillier, a UNDP expert, explained the process of preparation and organization of the quarterly financial report and the biannually reports on indicators and outputs that will be submitted by the Ministries and Federal Institutions," Al Yateem added.

Mr. Abdul Rahim Ismaeel Al Zarooni, Director of Information Systems Department, said, " We have been consistent in training government employees and this session comes in the same frame on the use of this electronic program that will be accessed through MOFI's website. They have been fully informed on the process of sending information and reports related to the budget in order to create a network that is easily accessible by the concerned parties. This is one of the steps of finalizing the reports on the annual budget. It is one of the objectives that the ministry has set for itself in its transition towards a full-fledged e-government."

It is important to mention that the Ministry of Finance and Industry is heading towards a complete conversion from the traditional budget to a performance-based budget. PBB relies on indicators and goals to aid in reaching decisions based on prioritizing activities. PBB aims at being a financial tool that will organize and enhance the quality of the financial and administrative activities for the ministries and federal institutions.
