Revenue is projected to be nearly flat at €5,300 million, compared to €5,330 million in the previous year.

For the full fiscal year (March 2003-April 2004), the company recorded unit volume growth of 19 percent which was, however, offset by the impact of the declining US dollar. Relative gross margin remained almost stable, despite intense competitive pressure in the market. Additionally, the company achieved a four percent decrease in operating expenses, according to the provisional figures.

"The year 2003-2004 has been a highly rewarding year for Fujitsu Siemens Computers, as we focused our strategies on products designed for mobility and business critical computing," said Jacquie Carson, Marketing & Communications Director, Fujitsu Siemens Computers in Dubai. "In the second half of the fiscal year, the growth in unit volumes touched 25 per cent, significantly boosting the profit levels and helping the company to outperform the market. In the Middle East, we continued to maintain an upward trend, securing several major deals from Large Enterprise sector as well as gaining market share in the SME and consumer segment."

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has fixed ambitious targets for the year 2004, with a growth projection of 5% in revenues. The company is on course to outgrow the market by at least 5%. The target growth areas will be Mobile PCs and IA-based PRIMERGY servers.

In the new fiscal year, FSC will be concentrating on SAP business where it intends to grow by 60%. It will focus on adding resources in the professional services area to provide technical consultancy for end-to-end design of systems, IT infrastructures and applications as well as services for interoperability, platform design, integration and project management to include vertical application scalability and integration.

"The robust IT growth recorded in the Middle East presents us with an excellent opportunity to provide solutions tailored to our customers in the region," said Carson. "Having made impressive gains over the past two years, we are poised to consolidate our position as one of the top IT vendors, delivering solutions that help customers leverage cutting edge technology to adopt new business processes. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will bring to the region's businesses the most advanced products that are helping businesses worldwide achieve optimum results."
