Shangri-La appoints new director of sales

Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai has announced the appointment of Mr Mohamed Taher as Director of Sales.

Mr Taher brings with him 17 years of experience in tourism and hospitality spanning the UAE, Bahrain and Cairo. Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai he was International Director of Sales & Marketing (ME) for Accor Business & Leisure Hotels. His career history also includes experience with brands such as Le Meridien and Sheraton.

"I am very pleased to have taken the opportunity to join Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. Initially, my main focus will be to develop a strategy to maximize opportunities from the GCC, one of the hotel's main source markets. It's very exciting to be a part of the Shangri-La team and working with such a dedicated team of professionals," he said.

In his new role Mr Taher is responsible for overseeing the Sales team and working with department heads responsible for Marketing Communications, Reservations and Events Management.
