Acer to showcase largest ever range of products at Gitex Saubi Arabia
- Saudi Arabia: Thursday, April 08 - 2004 at 11:11
- PRESS RELEASE
Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd today announced that it will display the widest variety of products ever to visitors attending Gitex Saudi Arabia, which will be held in Riyadh from April 18 to 22.
Gitex Saudi Arabia is again attracting international names. Acer believes this year's show will once provide them with strong business opportunities.
"Saudi Arabia is a significant market for Acer. Each year that we participate at Gitex Saudi Arabia, we aim to showcase the most innovative products because we understand that demand for up-to-the-minute technology runs high in the kingdom," said Philip Ashkar, director of sales and marketing, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
"This year, in response to the growing trend for easy-to-use home entertainment options and notebooks, we are putting on display a wide variety of our groundbreaking solutions."
Acer believes its new Aspire RC500 and Aspire RC900 desktop PCs - which will be on show at the exhibition - will contribute to strong sales in the kingdom, based on the country's growing home entertainment market.
"Consumers in Saudi Arabia are looking for PCs that provide an entire range of home entertainment options and at the moment, Acer is the only company in the market offering such a comprehensive solution," said Ashkar.
The Aspire RC500 and RC900's all-in-one design, and reasonable price, will contribute to their popularity in Saudi Arabia. By rolling all elements of home entertainment into one platform, the machines are viewed as an economical and space-saving solution.
"The Aspires, which can do everything from play movies and music to broadcast television and store photographs, also feature a wireless keyboard and mouse. The Aspires eliminate the mess that cables create and really help people to save space in the home," added Ashkar.
Getting mobile
Acer is also making a strong push for the kingdom's corporate sector, offering a broad portfolio of notebooks and tablet PCs. Strong levels of interest are expected for Acer's TravelMate 800, which has been selling well across the region. The model was the first Centrino-based notebook PC available on the global market, and became a firm favourite among travelling business people across the Middle East.
Additionally, Acer will showcase the TravelMate C300, which is the company's third tablet PC to be launched in the Middle East. Based on the success of the region's first tablet PC, the TravelMate C100, Acer then launched its second tablet PC in the Middle East - the TravelMate C110. The TravelMate C110 - which includes Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and the latest Intel Centrino Mobile technology - has been meeting the needs of Saudi Arabia's growing "on-the-move" business community. The C110 was the first Tablet PC with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology to be launched in the Middle East.
The TravelMate C300, which is the first 14" tablet PC in the Middle East, also has a full-size keyboard, on-screen centralized controls and the benefits of Intel Centrino mobile technology.
"In Saudi Arabia, we believe that the TravelMate C300 will be used by many people as their primary computer. With the big screen display, a first for a tablet PC, it is similar in layout to the standard notebooks that people are using now," said Ashkar.
"However, the TravelMate C300 offers much more. The screen becomes a writing surface when you rotate it and fold it back over the keyboard, perfect for taking notes, annotating documents and completing online forms."
Acer is responding to the demands of the market by putting on display the recently released Aspire 2000 mobile computer. Designed for people with a busy lifestyle, the Aspire 2000 is a take-anywhere media centre.
Featuring wireless Internet connectivity and broad compatibility with the latest devices, the Aspire 2000 also boasts a 15.4" TFT color LCD wide-screen, which enables users to enjoy watching DVDs in panoramic on a wide screen without having to boot up the notebook, while the media-console allows effortless movement between MP3, CD or DVD playback. Additionally, the notebook boasts built-in speakers and subwoofer for an all-round entertainment experience.
The Aspire 2000 offers exceptional processing speed and powers, along with storage flexibility via a 4-in-1 card reader supporting MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital, SmartMedia and Memory Stick. Utilizing ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 with 64MB of video memory for crisp, clear images the Aspire 2000 has cinematic quality graphics display.
"Participating at Gitex Saudi Arabia is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet one-on-one with leading business people in the kingdom. We look forward to this year's show and anticipate a healthy interest in the full line up of Acer products," concluded Ashkar.
