- PRESS RELEASE
Sami Zoghbi, Managing Director of Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts - Middle East and West Asia, announced the appointment of Majeed Khalil as general manager of luxurious Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, the hotel that is in the final stages of the refurbishment and expansion works.
At Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, Mr. Khalil will oversee the last stages of the refurbishment plan that was started over 2 years ago, when Le Meridien took over the management of the property.
Talking about the re-branding, Mr. Khalil said: "We have a huge task ahead and that is positioning the newly branded hotel in the market. With its new identity as Le Royal Meridien topped with the opening of a new tower, new outlets and new lobby, this property is going to be a leader in the industry and not a follower".
When asked how to achieve this, Mr. Khalil replied: "Quite simply, through an awesome service delivery that will exceed guests expectations, while remaining friendly and unobtrusive. A guest staying here must feel at home, and employees must also feel at home and consider the hotel guests like their own. This is the secret for success. When staff are motivated and empowered, the service becomes a pleasure and not a chore though reflecting on its delivery".
His challenge is to bring forward the re-branding plans that will see the opening of 6 new outlets, 77 new rooms and suites, an entertainment centre and a state-of-the-art conference and banqueting facilities that will prove to be a favourite venue for weddings, launches, banquets and other exclusive events in the capital.
"Twenty-two years ago I joined the hospitality industry by coincidence, but it became my true affection and the love for the hotels where I have worked has kept me going. I intend to apply the same policy at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi", he added.
Mr. Khalil is married and has two children.
