The British University in Dubai opens office at Knowledge Village

The British University in Dubai (BUiD), the Middle East's first research-based university for post-graduate education, has opened its regional administrative office in Dubai's Knowledge Village.
"The British University in Dubai is an important addition to the educational landscape in the UAE and Middle East region," said David J. Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive, BUiD. "The University is providing a unique opportunity for post-graduate education in the Middle East by bringing the best of British education to Dubai."
The Institutes of Informatics, Education and Engineering (Project Management) at BUiD were developed in accordance with the highest, internationally recognised British standards set be its partner institutes at The University of Edinburgh, The University of Birmingham and The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). BUiD will make a distinct contribution to education in the region through its partnership with these 5-star rated research universities.
The University of Edinburgh is the leading international centre for Informatics. The University of Birmingham is internationally recognised for its excellence in teaching and research. UMIST is world renowned for its innovation and research in engineering.
Established by law in 2003, The British University in Dubai has achieved official candidacy from the Ministry of Higher Education and currently programmes are either under review or being brought forward for accreditation. Full and part-time masters programmes will commence in September 2004.

About The British University in DubaiThe British University in Dubai (BUiD) is the Middle East's first research-based university. The university was established to facilitate access to world class education, training and research in the Middle East. BUiD aspires to the highest, internationally recognised British standards as reflected in its partnership with The University of Edinburgh, The University of Birmingham and The University of Manchester Institute of Science (UMIST).
