The British University in Dubai opens office at Knowledge Village

The new office serves as the pan-Arab education and administrative centre for the University and will facilitate students interested in enrolling in masters degree or continuing professional development programmes in Informatics, Education and Engineering (Project Management).

"The University is providing a unique opportunity for post-graduate education in the Middle East by bringing the best of British education to Dubai."

The Institutes of Informatics, Education and Engineering (Project Management) at BUiD were developed in accordance with the highest, internationally recognised British standards set be its partner institutes at The University of Edinburgh, The University of Birmingham and The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). BUiD will make a distinct contribution to education in the region through its partnership with these 5-star rated research universities.

The University of Edinburgh is the leading international centre for Informatics. The University of Birmingham is internationally recognised for its excellence in teaching and research. UMIST is world renowned for its innovation and research in engineering.


Established by law in 2003, The British University in Dubai has achieved official candidacy from the Ministry of Higher Education and currently programmes are either under review or being brought forward for accreditation. Full and part-time masters programmes will commence in September 2004.
