- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 14 - 2004 at 15:01
- PRESS RELEASE
International Business Events has today announced that Airport, Port and Terminal Security (APTS), the only forum to focus exclusively on the key security challenges facing transport terminals around the world, will take place on the 28th February - 1st March 2005 at the Grand Hyatt, Dubai.
Dubai is the most significant crossroads in the region for passenger and cargo traffic by air and sea. With forecasts putting passenger throughput for Dubai at around 60 million a year by 2010, alongside record growth in container throughput, this will have a significant knock-on effect for future security requirements.
Security is a fundamental part of future growth and expansion and APTS Dubai will provide the forum at which International security experts, Government, Airport and Port Operators, Airlines and Shipping companies, and providers of security products and services will meet to discuss the threats and ways to mitigate risk. The high-level conference programme will analyse transport security and safety with a focus on policy, innovation, and best practice in countering the threats worldwide.
Alongside the conference, companies at the forefront of security technology will be showcasing the latest product and service solutions, including screening and detection equipment, CCTV and other surveillance systems, new and emerging technologies, personnel identification and verification, access control devices, and baggage handling.
Maurice Flanagan, Vice Chairman & Group President, at Emirates comments 'The APTS Dubai event will provide a much-needed forum bringing together leading professionals from the Middle East region concerned with ensuring the highest levels of aviation security. I am pleased to lend my support to this event'.
