Marshall Islands to make Mid East expo debut at Seatrade
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, April 15 - 2004 at 12:06
- PRESS RELEASE
The tiny Republic of the Marshall Islands - a nation comprising 29 coral atolls and five small low-lying islands in the Central Pacific - is to make its Gulf exhibition debut in Dubai this December at the Seatrade Middle East Maritime event.
"The Middle East is a growing market for the shipping industry," said William R. Gallagher, President, International Registries Inc. "We are a first time participant at Seatrade and our main reason for attending is to promote our services and introduce the Marshall Islands Registries.
"We are hoping to meet all sectors of the maritime industry that have any influence on where a vessel is flagged by its owner. Future links with the Middle East hinge largely on the response the Republic, which lies midway between Hawaii and Australia, receives at Seatrade," said Gallagher.
"Expansion into the region will be depend on the type and amount of business that we can generate in the future. We already have a number of clients that trade in, or operate from, the Middle East."
To date, exhibitors from 12 countries have registered for Seatrade Middle East Maritime, the region's leading exhibition and conference for the shipping and associated industries, which has pavilion commitments from Iran, India and Pakistan.
