New state-of-the-art depot for TNT Kuwait
- Kuwait: Sunday, April 18 - 2004 at 10:15
- PRESS RELEASE
TNT, the leading global freight express provider, will shortly open a spectacular state-of-the-art depot here, management has announced.
Details of the new multi-million-dollar depot, in the Future Zone at Swheikah Port, were announced by TNT's Gulf and Saudi Arabia Managing Director, Mark Pell.
"The large new TNT facility is in line with our unswerving commitment to the market in Kuwait," says Pell. "It will enable us to provide an even better service to our customers in Kuwait. We are, of course, operating in Iraq, but the scope of the operation will be vastly different once stability comes to the country. Kuwait will be pivotal to the Iraq service so the new depot will be the prefect window on Iraq. The depot is a substantial investment which further underlines our loyalty to the Kuwait market."
TNT Country Manager-Kuwait, Ben Roberts, says the new depot is 500 sq metres and stands two storeys and employs the latest technology derived from TNT in Europe.
"It's a tremendous facility which will ensure TNT continues to cover all bases in Kuwait. It is tailor-made for our logistics operations. No-one in our industry has invested as much on technology as TNT and this will be reflected in the new facility. The ever-increasing strength of our pan-Gulf Economy Express road network necessitates such large and state-of-the-art depots. TNT is responding to the needs of the market in Kuwait as we do everywhere else."
TNT recently opened a multi-million-dollar depot in Bahrain and moved into multi-million-dollar premises for its Middle East hub in Dubai.
