Gulf Air commences refurbishment of Airbus A320s
- Bahrain: Monday, April 19 - 2004 at 17:34
- PRESS RELEASE
As the region's largest operator of Airbus A320s, Gulf Air is upgrading its fleet of medium range aircraft to reflect the new and bolder Gulf Air brand image that was introduced in 2003 and to provide even greater levels of passenger comfort.
The A320, already renowned for its roominess and comfort, will be made even more spacious with the reconfiguration of Gulf Air classes from three to two. The new Gulf Air A320s will offer business (J) and economy (Y) class seating, allowing for additional capacity in economy and more legroom in business.
"Gulf Air is continually seeking ways to enhance passenger comfort and provide world class service to all passengers," said President and Chief Executive James Hogan. "The new look and feel of the A320s means passengers will have a higher standard of comfort, especially in business class, which we believe offers a service that is equal to the first class service offered on other regional carriers."
In 2003 Gulf Air introduced its new corporate identity and a rebranding strategy that encompasses a contemporary new identity and brand values across every element of the airline. The refurbishment programme is the latest in a series of new looks for the airline including the opening of a state-of-the-art first and business class lounge in Bahrain, new uniforms and a new airline in the form of the highly successful Gulf Traveller.
