This latest deal reflects the financial services market's continuing demand for cost-effective and flexible self-service delivery systems.

Over one thousand five hundred units have now been sold to banks across the EMEA region. Some of the leading financial institutions in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa have chosen Opteva as their new self-service channel: Crédit Agricole (France), Fortis Bank Netherlands N.V. (Netherlands), National Bank of Greece, Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État (Luxembourg), Raiffeisenbank (Russia), Kazcommertsbank (Kazakhstan), Standard Bank (South Africa), and Alrajhi and National Commercial Bank (Saudi Arabia) are just some of banks who have bought Opteva units.

'The speed at which the Opteva family continues to sell since its launch is a testimony to its ability to deliver real cost benefits to our customers,' said Henrik Funch, divisional vice president of Diebold EMEA. 'Opteva ATMs are easy to install, easy to own and easy to upgrade resulting in reduced cost of ownership. Opteva provides financial institutions with maximum control of their self-service assets, combined with the ability to use their ATM network as an additional customer relationship management (CRM) channel to create other revenue opportunities.'

Diebold's Opteva ATMs were designed with a number of unique, enhanced features that provide added security and help protect the assets of financial institutions. Some of the Opteva security features include, customer awareness mirrors, cameras and recessed keypads and displays. To combat fraud, Opteva ATMs are equipped with fraud-resistant dispensers and card readers as well as a Triple DES-compliant encrypted PIN pad (EPP).

The Opteva family also operates on Universal Serial Bus (USB 2.0) open architecture, which allows banks to more easily and quickly integrate future technologies and facilitate faster transactions through high-speed communications with ATM peripherals. Opteva also offers the largest full-color display in the industry - providing the capability to deliver high-impact video promotions, messages and campaigns. In addition, Opteva's intuitive graphical interface simplifies maintenance functions.

Opteva ATMs operate on Diebold's Agilis® software platform, an open system that allows multiple vendors' terminals and their respective technologies to co-exist on an ATM network. This software brings new levels of speed, flexibility and performance throughout the entire self-service delivery channel. Agilis is backward compatible with existing host environments, meaning that integration costs are minimised. In addition, it supports adding advanced-function transactions and enhanced features such as channel integration with web services and browser-based screens, personalised transactions and one-to-one marketing.

The Opteva family includes:

• Diebold Opteva 720 - advanced-function lobby ATM

• Diebold Opteva 760 - advanced-function through-the-wall walk-up ATM

• Diebold Opteva 520 - lobby cash dispenser

• Diebold Opteva 560 - through-the-wall walk-up cash dispenser

• Diebold Opteva 740 - advanced-function through-the-wall drive-up ATM

• Diebold Opteva 750 - advanced-function island drive-up ATM
