DM awards certificates of appreciation to concrete blocks manufacturers and ready mix concrete suppliers

The certificates were distributed in a ceremony held at the Dubai Municipality Staff Club by Mr. Abdulla Al Shaibani, Assistant Director General for Technical Services in the presence of Eng. Salah Amiri, Director of Dubai Central Laboratory Department.

The certificates were awarded in recognition of the contribution made by these establishments in promoting quality in construction through compliance with the Dubai Municipality regulations, Local Order 44/1990 (specifications for concrete blocks) and Administrative Order 143/1991 (specifications for sand used in ready mix concrete). The establishments who received the certificates are all registered under the Dubai Central Laboratory Department certification scheme for these two regulations.

Prior to the event, a series of consultation meetings were held at the Dubai Central Laboratory Department in Karama for two days. Representatives of block factories and ready mix concrete suppliers were invited to these meetings in order to participate in an open discussion with DCLD on matters related to the implementation of the mentioned regulations.
