Benetton to launch student discount card in the UAE

The card will be unveiled at this year's Spring Fiesta, Wonderland Park in Dubai, taking place from April 22-23.

Valid for one year, the UCB Student Discount Card entitles students to a 10 per cent discount on all items at any Benetton outlet in the UAE throughout the year. The cards are even valid during sales, providing the total discount is no more than 50 per cent.

"Around 4,000 students from local schools and colleges are expected to attend the Spring Fiesta, making it one of the largest student events in the UAE. The fiesta gives us a fantastic opportunity to launch this scheme for students on a large scale," said Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group.

The Spring Fiesta has been organised by the American College of Dubai for the last four years. Around 20 schools and colleges from around the UAE are participating this year and Bollywood celebrity Raageshwari will host the show on both days.

The fiesta programme includes dance, fashion, live music and quiz competitions. An exclusive Benetton fashion show will be held on April 22 from 9:00pm with 18 students from American College of Dubai presenting Benetton's spring/summer range on the catwalk.

Benetton is also sponsoring the western dance competition and judging the best performance on the night. The dancers have been preparing for the contest since January, and the students choreograph all the routines themselves.

Dayal said: "We are delighted to support students in events they put their heart and minds into. Young people are what United Colors of Benetton is all about."

United Colors of Benetton in the UAE has been part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group since 1989. The Benetton network spans six shops in Dubai: Deira City Centre, BurJuman, Jumeirah Centre, Zabeel Road, Al Ghurair, and Lamcy Plaza.
