  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 21 - 2004 at 10:34
  • PRESS RELEASE

Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), the leading international IT company, has announced the appointment of Ahmed Khalil as the new Regional Manager for the Middle East, responsible for managing the company's operations in the area covering the GCC, Palestine, the Levant, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Malta, Iran and Yemen.

An Arab national, Khalil will be driving the FSC teams responsible for sales and marketing, customer service, operations and channel partners across the region. The appointment of Khalil signals that Dirk De Waegeneire, Vice President, International Sales, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Jacquie Carson, Marketing & Communications Director, International Sales, will be focusing more on their international roles of developing the META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) region, enabling Khalil to take charge of FSC's operation in the countries under his responsibility.

"The appointment of a reputable IT professional like Khalil shows FSC's commitment in investing in additional resources to bring further growth to the company," said De Waegeneire. "Khalil has worked with major global IT companies at the regional level. His expertise combined with his thorough knowledge of the region will allow him to guide FSC's operations in the regional markets within his scope of responsibility".

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has successfully implemented an indirect sales model which has contributed positively towards strong relationships with its channel partners, a strategy which I support for achieving business growth," said Ahmed Khalil, Regional Manager, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "This strategy has helped FSC achieve major success in market growth across Large Enterprises(LE), Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Consumer segments. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is a well established, leading IT brand. This factor, coupled with FSC's consistent commitment to expand its operations in the region, makes me certain of the solid growth FSC will experience in the Middle East. I am honoured to be working for such as prestigious company, and I look forward to making a concrete contribution towards fulfilling the company's goals and objectives."

A graduate from the American University of Cairo, with a major in Computer Science and Business Administration, Khalil's earlier assignments were with Compaq. Before joining FSC he worked with Toshiba as Regional Manager for the Middle East. His extensive experience in representing the interests of multinational IT players in a region that is filled with challenges and unique market scenarios, will certainly help assist him in FSC's continuous expansion in the Middle East.
