Titled "Sajel Ana Arabi" (Proud to be an Arab), the campaign will seek to unite Arabs by raising their awareness about their forgotten traditions and achievements through a series of interactive events and lively discussions. A top official of Maktoob.com believed that the effort will also go a long way towards highlighting the rich cultural diversity and literary talent available throughout the Middle East.

In this connection, Maktoob.com will host popular Arab cultural ambassadors and highlight their dynamic and relevant literary works.

"In this turbulent time that the region is witnessing, Maktoob.com wishes to bring together the creative minds of the Arab world and stimulate young Arabs to contribute constructively towards society," explained Reem Madanat, Content Manager of Maktoob.com. "From the beginning, Maktoob.com has been actively involved in nurturing the Arab community and, now, through the new campaign, we will endeavor to underline our core mission."

Explaining that the Internet had proved to be one of the most successful communication platforms in recent times, Madanat pointed out: "Being online is one of the most effective ways to address Arabs worldwide; it's immediate, spontaneous and fun. Therefore, it's an honor to feature literary greats such as Mahmoud Darwish in the Sajel Ana Arabi concept, where they can connect with Arabs from around the world."

Madanat stated that as part of the Sajel Ana Arabi campaign, all outgoing emails sent by Maktoob.com subscribers will feature a special "Sajel Ana Arabi" stamp that will seek to build interest among Arabs about the concepts. "Darwish has been a foremost advocate of human rights for Palestinians and a brilliant poet whose imagination and creative genius has been applauded the world over. Through Sajel Ana Arabi, we will be showcasing his inspiring poetry to more and more people," she said.
