High profile German group makes major foray into Dubai Healthcare City

The German Group - die+zahnärzte - announced that it will invest in setting up specialised dental clinics for adults and children at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).

"Our extraordinarily high standard matches well with the high standards and objectives of Dubai Healthcare City. While we will bring in specialist knowledge and techniques never before available to this region, the Dubai Healthcare City provides the excellent infrastructure from which we would operate. We want to offer the globally well-known and respected German quality to the people in Dubai and the region," said Dr. Ingo Kock, CEO of the facility to be established in Dubai.

We, at the Dubai Healthcare City, are naturally delighted to establish a relationship with them, beginning with the setting up of their regional base at the DHCC," said Omar Moawiayh Al Shunnar, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer of Dubai Healthcare City.

Al Shunnar added: "DHCC's main objective is to provide the highest quality care to patients through the creation of an integrated healthcare community that will facilitate the delivery of care to patients. This agreement complements the creation of an integrated community of healthcare services at DHCC covering the entire value chain, from acute care all the way to preventive medicine, covering the human life cycle."

Dr. Kock said: "We will establish special dental clinics for adults and children at DHCC. A comprehensive range of services from pain treatment to prophylaxis and long-term support will be offered. Our vision is to start from the beginning with a fully equipped dental office."

Medical care and tourism
He pointed out that DHCC will not only provide best-of-case medical services to the region, its facilities are such that it will also pull in patients from abroad, who can come here not only to get world-class medical attention, but also enjoy the many attractions of Dubai.

"Besides servicing the region, we are also inclined to offer our German patients the possibility to get their dental treatment done at our Dubai office. Therefore they can enjoy a perfect holiday in combination with a familiar high quality dental treatment," Dr. Kock said.

Post-graduate programme
Al Shunnar said the Dubai Healthcare City has also discussed the possibility of a joint initiative by both the DHCC and German Dental Group, to provide medical education through post-graduate programmes for regional dentists and orthodontists. They also explored other areas of possible partnerships.

Dr. Kock added: "In our philosophy, we want to share and trade our knowledge and experience with anyone who equals to extend our networks in order to serve the patients. We would be glad if our postgraduate programme attracted young regional dentists and encouraged them to learn more about our successful concept. We will transmit our well established and successful concept to one of the most breathtaking and future - oriented cities of the world."
