Over 300 members of the local and regional business community, as well as all Executive Committee members of Factors Chain International, attended the conference which was held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai on 21 April.

The conference was officially inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee, Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and featured expert speakers from the factoring industry.

HSBC Factoring Services, launched in the UAE in 2003, are designed to assist businesses with financing against their outstanding invoices for both their domestic and international sales. Factoring allows businesses to tap into the potential of their sales ledgers and frees up their valuable time and resources - turning today's sales invoices into tomorrow's cash flow.

HSBC's Regional Manager of Trade Services and Factoring, Chris Lewis, spoke at the conference about launching factoring services in a new market such as the UAE. He said "As one of the world's leading providers of factoring services, we have used HSBC's global expertise here in the Middle East to our local advantage. We have a team of dedicated professionals who will ensure that through this mechanism payments are collected efficiently, and who will at the same time promote a stronger seller-buyer relationship."
