Turkish delegation explores trade opportunities in Dubai

A trade delegation from the Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Turkey comprising 24 members recently visited Dubai to consolidate the co-operation between the emirate and Turkey, especially in the fields of trade and tourism, in addition to obtaining information about the services and facilities available for trade.
Mr. Buamaim said: "Relations between Dubai and Turkey has been very strong and the emirate has witnessed a constant increase in the number of visitors from Turkey. While the number of visitors from Turkey to the emirate increased by an impressive 65 per cent in 2002 compared with 2001, the first quarter of 2004 registered a 48 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year."
He added: "The DTCM participated in the 'East Mediterranean International Travel & Tourism 2004 (EMITT)', one of the biggest travel industry event held in Istanbul, Turkey, this February. Dubai stand won best stand award. We had met this delegation during the EMITT wherein they had expressed their desire to visit Dubai."
During their visit to the DTCM Head Office, Mr. Al Qurashi provided the delegates with information on Dubai's trade and tourism matters in addition to the growth opportunities available for the trade sector.
He also highlighted the current and ongoing developments taking place in Dubai in addition to the new projects planned. In addition, he emphasized the efforts being made by the DTCM to put Dubai on the world map.
This was followed by a presentation on 'Dubai Experience' by Mr. Abdulla bin Sowaidan, DTCM Executive Missions, which was well received and highly appreciated.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Al Qurashi presented the delegation with a memento.
