Al Jaber Optical introduces the first customer-accessible dispensing laboratory in the UAE

It is the first of its kind in the emirates and is the first of the 16 Al Jaber Optical branches to incorporate this feature.

The objective of this kind of laboratory is to allow customers to see how their spectacles and sunglasses are made on the spot. The open-plan workshop follows the floor design of Lamcy Plaza. It has all the machines that are used for putting eyewear together: one for checking the power of lenses, another for polishing and finishing rimless glasses, and various other instruments for adjusting frames and completing prescriptions.

At the centre of the workshop is an auto-edging machine from Accura in France. It allows the Al Jaber Optical technician to process a prescription within 10 to 15 minutes, as the machine does this automatically. In contrast, eyewear made using the manually operated equivalent takes hours. So customers can observe while their eyewear is being assembled, wait for just a few minutes, then be able to take it with them right away. This is why Al Jaber Optical is one store with a difference, because it is the first one to introduce such a unique facility, which proves very convenient to its customers.

The Lamcy Plaza branch of Al Jaber Optical can easily handle the flow of client traffic even during weekends, as it is adequately staffed. The branch opened in October 2002 and has enjoyed considerable success, owing to its easy-access format. The advantage of this type of shop design is that customers who browse the different stores within the shopping mall can stream in and out of the optical store quite easily. The workshop was added just 15 days ago, but has already attracted a lot of curiosity... and many customers!

Al Jaber Optical Centre at Lamcy Plaza is open from 10 am to 10 pm. This is the only optical store in the UAE that is open non-stop, even on Fridays. Its location within the shopping mall ensures that its customers have access to multi-interest shopping, as well as ample parking, including valet service.
