Samsung shrinks 'Theatre-in-a-box' with launch of Combo Home Theatre Systems

Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital convergence technology, has added unprecedented levels of convenience to its new range of Combo Home Theatre Systems, the CHT-500 and CHT-250.

The new range of home theatre systems from Samsung combines all the system components into a compact slim unit that delivers convenience and space management while maintaining the high audio-video quality desired by enthusiasts of home entertainment.

Mr. H.J. Park, Senior Manager, Sales and Marketing, Samsung Gulf Electronics, said "Home theatres are a primary source of entertainment in this region. Entertainment enthusiasts however qualify a good system by its output quality as well as its convenience and slickness in their living rooms. Our new Combo range is designed to satisfy the unique tastes of home theatre enthusiasts."

The Samsung CHT-500 and CHT-250 offers the best solution for consumers who want to build a futuristic personal home theatre that can save on interior space and also enhance interior style. They are tastefully designed as one compact unit (430mm) integrating digital amplifier DVD and VCR. CHT-500 and CHT-250 are simple to connect with just one set of cables, and feature a user-friendly multi TV glow-in-dark remote control unit, which conveniently operates the entire system. A one-touch 'copy' button on the front panel also allows users to copy the contents of a DVD, VCD, CD and CD-R onto a VHS tape without the need for any other device. The common features in the Combo includes a DVD player, VCR, VCD/CD Player, Digital Amplifier, FM/AM Tuner built into one unit in addition to five sleek speakers, one woofer among other features.

"Our objective was to provide consumers with a high quality theatre experience within their living rooms," explains Park. With theatre-like sound from 5 speakers and a subwoofer, the sound qualities of these systems are extremely clear and features Dolby Pro Logic II technology. Combined with Dolby technology, the 5.1 Channel Speaker systems enhance the average sound generated by VHS tapes to 3D Surround Sound. With this launch, we have packaged a theatre virtually in a box," said Mr. Ashraf Sajid, Sales and Marketing Manager, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The CHT-500 has a power of 500W and the CHT-250 comes with 250W. Apart from this difference all the features are common in both the systems. They include a DVD, DVD-R/RW, CD, MP3, CD-R/RW, VHS, SVHS Tape Playback, 6 Head HiFi VCR, Full Digital Amplifier (System Power 250W), AM/FM Tuner, Dolby Digital Decoder, DTS (Digital Theatre System) Decoder, Dolby Prologic II, Multi TV Glow-In-Dark Remote Control Unit, Front Panel, Head Phone Jack, 5.1 Ch Audio Out and Digital Audio.
