International Spring Trade Fair 2004 opens today at Dubai International Exhibition Centre

Riding on the success of previous editions, the five-day International Spring Trade Fair 2004 (ISTF2004) will open today, May 2 2004, at the Dubai International Exhibition Center (DIEC) Hall Number 3 with participation of over 200 exhibitors this year.
Organised by Dubai-based leading exhibition organizer, Al Fajer Information and Services, the fair this year will host national pavilions of four countries occupying 60 per cent of the gross exhibition space.
Like in the previous years, China will lead the show with the largest contingent of more than 75 participants followed by the first-time participants Russia with 20 exhibitors, 10 from Morocco and 10 from Iran.
Mr. Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information and Services said: "We believe that like in the previous years, the ISTF 2004 will contribute significantly in fostering regional trade by providing the ideal business-to-business meeting grounds."
He said given the upbeat economic condition of the region the show is expected to attract a record number of trade visitors.
The fair witnessed turnout of some 30,137 visitors in the previous show including 8,137 trade visitors and 22,000 general visitors which is expected to reach 10,000 and 25,000 respectively.
The countries showcasing their products and services at individual levels include Hong Kong, Italy, India, Indonesia and Singapore. Some 20 exhibitors from the UAE have also confirmed participation reflecting the confidence of the local companies in the fair.
The ISTF 2004 this year will showcase a whole range of consumer goods starting from jewellery, clothing, electronics, foodstuff, and kitchen wares to automobile accessories and tools.
