  • PRESS RELEASE

The company aims at attracting investors in the region interested in developing new properties targeting the timeshare market.

With the recent boom in the travel and tourism industry in the Middle East, the company's management expects a strong response during ATM, as recent member figures have been growing rapidly, which means that the market is keen on additional properties.

Yehia El Nowaiem, General Manager RCI Middle East, talked about the reasons behind the company's participation in ATM by saying: "Our member base in the region is very strong and has experienced significant growth within a very short period of time. This clearly indicates that there remains a substantial base of consumers as yet untapped for timeshare sales within this region. ATM will provide the perfect platform to initiate discussions and I do hope that we will be able to confirm a few partnerships in the near future."

Vacation Ownership is today the fastest growing segment of the travel and tourism industry with a growth rate that is twice the industry growth. With over 3,700 resorts in 100 countries and over 3 million member families, RCI is the undisputed world leader in the vacation ownership industry.

In the region, RCI recently announced its first project, which is based in the Jumeirah Palm. The Palm Hotel and Resort and Palm Vacation Club will incorporate a 300 bedroom hotel. The resort will be located on the prime southwest side of the "trunk" portion, in close proximity to the island's core features. The Hotel and integrated resort will feature extensive meeting space, beach club, outdoor leisure facilities, a pool complex, a children's activity centre and a Spa. A variety of internationally themed dining facilities will feature sea, garden or pool views. In addition to the hotel, the project will include 460 vacation ownership residences that will be managed by an international Five Star Hotel company. A retail complex, five beach clubs and freehold residences are also under consideration. Lush gardens and over 460 m of beachfront will lend the entire development the air of a seaside oasis.
