Heidelberg's Middle East team mission is to provide support for the hundreds of printing specialists who would be converging in Dusseldorf from various parts of the region. A pre-Drupa extensive training program was provided for the team members to be at hand offering all assistance and guidance to the cutting edge and latest printing technologies and intelligent work flow solutions at the Heidelberg 7,800 square meters stand occupying two full halls at the 14-day event that happens once every four years.

"By all means, the UAE is leading the media printing industry in the region with 10 % annual growth rate," said Zeid Al Jehni, Heidelberg's General Manager Middle East. "The economic prosperity of the country boosted by flourishing and healthy advertising, real estate, tourism, events and publishing sectors are largely contributing to this growth," he added.

He assures that the establishment of the Dubai Media City, the establishment of the Printing Group in Dubai and the introduction of upcoming International Media Printing Zone (IMPZE) in Dubai is expected to further maintain the Emirate's position as the major printing hub in the region and a leading centre for exporting printed material to the African, European and Asian markets."

"Supported by a very healthy and flexible working environment, cutting-edge technological advancement, competitive operational cost and very qualified labor skills, the UAE in general and Dubai in particular are ready to compete head-to-head with major printing outsourcing centers on the global level," Al Jehni added.

At Drupa 2004, Heidelberg will be introducing more than 50 innovations in a wide range of products including pre-press, press and post-press product sectors. This emphasizes Heidelberg's premier position as the leading innovator in the print media industry

Sindbad Al-Mahaire, Heidelberg's marketing manager, Middle East, said, "As the pioneers in the printing industry and upfront leaders in bringing the latest innovations to the printing industry, the Heidelberg stand will be a main attraction for all the Drupa visitors to put hands on the 50 plus new innovations we will be introducing at the biggest such event everywhere in the world."

"Created with Passion - Made for Success" reflects Heidelberg's approach to the world's largest industry event. "Customer benefits and performance potential" are the central messages in Heidelberg's trade show concept.

"The solutions presented at the trade show are divided into five customer-specific sectors - Industrial Print, Commercial Print, Packaging, Variable Data Print and Commercial Web - with additional application centers. The Heidelberg workflow solutions will be presented in a separate Prinect Center and in the Heidelberg Forum according to the application. The Heidelberg Forum will feature presentations by the Print Media Academy (PMA), the Environmental Center, and others," Al-Mahaire added.

"Our 40 member team of the best qualified engineers, technicians, sales and marketing from Heidelberg's offices around the region, will be dedicated to serve the hundreds of printing specialists who will visit the show to familiarize themselves with the last developments in the printing industry." he confirms.
