The airline, designated as the flag carrier of Serbia, now has five return frequencies on the sector. A new regional site was launched last week.

Jat Airways, the second largest airline in southeast Europe, announces the increase of frequencies on the Dubai to Beirut and Belgrade route. Prompted by stronger demand and general increase in passenger traffic from Dubai, the airline has increased to five, the weekly rotations on this sector. Jat now operates on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with convenient departures at 7:35 in the morning from Dubai. These morning departures allow for quick connections to the airline's other European gateways such as Paris, Milan and Amsterdam through Belgrade.

'Jat Airways is prepared and will compete vigorously for the region's passengers. Our improved schedule and added frequencies, along with very competitive pricing, are just some of the ways we intend to maintain our strong position' said Ilija Todoric, Jat Airways Regional Director, Middle East, Africa and Asia. 'We are still contemplating flying to Dubai on a daily basis, even double daily on some days - we may even link Dubai with other Gulf destinations, or with the subcontinent, everything is possible' reiterates Mr. Todoric.

The carrier will celebrate its 77th anniversary on June the 16th and plans to announce a major new aircraft order later in the year that will see the entire fleet replaced over the next decade. Both Airbus and Boeing are in the running to supply the new aircrafts that will see the current Boeing 737-300's and Boeing 737-400's eventually retired from service.

Meanwhile, Jat Airways launched the first phase of its regional web presentation. Commenting on the site's launch last week, Vladimir Ponjevic, Jat Airways Deputy Regional Director, Middle East, Africa and Asia said, 'This website is just a small hint of what is coming from Jat and what we are planning for our Dubai and Middle East operations'. He also noted that for the first time, Jat Airways will be in a position to offer Middle East travelers a site relevant to their journey from this region, including current special offers.
