The General Motors Service and Parts Managers Guild 2004, is designed to assist managers in reaching targets that help improve their respective department's performance and profitability, while enhancing customer satisfaction.

More than 25 managers from the GCC and Syria who qualified for the 2004 Guild were the special guests of General Motors at the Mina Salaam Hotel, Dubai for the two-day event.

"Sales of GM vehicles have grown tremendously in the region over the last few years and are forecast to continue their upward trend this year and beyond," said Joe Elenz, Aftersales Director - General Motors - Africa and Middle East. "It is therefore critical that the service and parts departments in our retailer network gear up to ensure the after sales service can cope with the increased demand.

"The Guild, now in its fourth year, helps refine operations through incentives and recognition," he added "All the winners received an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai, a dealership plaque, trophy and certificate of recognition."

The Guild requires managers to closely examine a wide range of elements of their business, ranging from training to marketing and warranties to accessories. Points are awarded when benchmarks are exceeded. If a Service or Parts manager achieves a total of 110 points by the end of the given time-period he/she will qualify for the Guild.

"This has proven to be a very popular scheme, where retailers, GM and customers all benefit," said Elenz. "The 2004 Parts and Service Guild has highlighted areas of business where true improvements yield real results!"
