Lone Arrow Stud, which currently sells horses within mature markets in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, says the Gulf market is prime for high-quality bred polo and show-jumping horses.

'The Gulf is a key geographical region for our business because of the burgeoning equestrian market,' said Sandy Mattingley, Stud Manager of Lone Arrow Stud. 'From enquiries to date, we feel confident that at least 30 of our yearling through to six-year-olds will be snapped up with at least ten a year sold hereon.'

The stud farm will use The Equestrian Show as the ideal platform to meet with purchasers and other breeders from the equestrian world and meet with industry chiefs from around the region and worldwide.

'Our ultimate objective is to establish an alliance with a reliable purchaser in the Gulf region to breed and train an agreed number of horses on an annual basis,' added Mattingley.

The Equestrian Show, which takes place this March 20-22nd, is the region's only official trade show dedicated to the equine world and is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and has the support of the Dubai Racing Club, UAE Equestrian & Racing Federation and Emirates Racing Association.

'It's an amazing week when global equine chiefs gather in Dubai for the Dubai World Cup and to check out the latest in the equestrian industry,' said Nick Webb, Director, Streamline Marketing, organisers of The Equestrian Show. 'The Equestrian Show features everything from premier stud farms like Lone Arrow Stud, Darley and Shadwell, to veterinary clinics and manufacturers.'
