Speakers from Etisalat Academy and the British Safety Council presented the diploma and conducted a discussion forum with senior safety managers and professionals as well as applicants belonging to different local and international businesses in the UAE.
'We are glad that the British Safety & Security Council has opted for Etisalat Academy to deliver its safety and environment training programmes in the Middle East. This enhances the reputation of the academy as a center of excellence and a regional strategic partner for many leading American and European institutes and training centers,' said Dr. Doaa Fares, Etisalat Academy General Manager
'The launch of this training programme on safety and environment management has come to bridge a gap in this field in the Middle East. The region lacks well-trained safety and environmental professionals. We are confident these programmes will meet the needs of many businesses and organizations which strive to have their safety and environment policies conform to the international standards,' said Ahmed Bin Ali, Etisalat Public Relations Manager.
The International Diploma in Environmental Management provides trainees with a thorough understanding of fundamental ecological principles and processes, together with the social, economic and cultural prerogatives that lead and influence solutions to environmental problems. It enables delegates to develop and integrate environmental management systems in line with corporate strategic objectives to drive business success.
The diploma is delivered in four comprehensive modules that together provide an outstanding level of training in environmental management, namely environmental awareness, environmental compliance, environmental management systems and environmental tools and techniques.
' The British Safety Council's International Diploma in Environmental Management is of a paramount importance to businesses. Good environmental performance saves money, promotes a strong and responsible corporate image, improves staff welfare and morale and gains competitive advantage,' said Ryhs Bush, Project Manager, the British Safety Council.
The International Diploma in Safety Management aims to enable delegates to achieve as varied objectives as reduced production delays, lower operating costs, improved product quality, lower insurance premiums, higher levels of motivation and higher productivity levels. It is delivered in six comprehensive modules that together provide an outstanding level of training in health and safety, namely general safety, safety management, communicating the safety message, management of occupational health, loss control and international safety.
The annual training figures of the Academy are published periodically in the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) review report, which benchmark the Academy's training conformity with the international standards. The academy is also the exclusive representative of a number of leading international institutes in the Middle East.
