Toshiba plans to offer the new Pentium M processors in current professional Tecra, Portégé and Satellite Pro series notebooks, as well as in upcoming Tecra and consumer Satellite notebook models, providing increased mobile and wireless performance from today's existing models.

"Toshiba embraces Intel's efforts to enhance the benefits that mobile and wireless technology brings to the customer," said Matthias Blank, acting regional manager of Toshiba's Middle East Computer Systems Division. "By constantly improving its technology, Intel complements Toshiba's commitment of bringing its customers the best mobile technology, mobile computing has to offer."

Current professional models including the Tecra M2, Portégé M200, Portégé M100 and Portégé R100 models, as well as the Satellite Pro M30 will be available with the new processors. Toshiba's Tecra series notebooks are designed for platform stability, prolonged product life-cycle and lower total cost of ownership.

The Portégé series offers the ultimate in portability, from the ultra-thin Portégé R100 to the impressive, stylish Portégé M100 and the innovative Portégé M200 tablet PC, each will come equipped with the latest Intel processor technology, providing enhanced performance to existing features, including mobility through Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. The Satellite Pro M30 series combines its slim and sleek design with a 15.4" wide-screen display, adding the perfect balance of multimedia features and style for both work and home use.

In addition to Toshiba's professional notebooks, the new Intel Pentium M processors will be available in select Satellite notebook models, expected to be launched in early summer. These products will range from value-based notebook PCs designed for the first time notebook PC buyer to high-powered multimedia- ready notebooks perfect for gaming or DVD entertainment and viewing.

"Intel is proud to have a partner like Toshiba supporting the release of our new processors," said Anand Chandrasekher, Intel vice president and co-general manager of Intel's Mobile Platforms Group. "It is important for Intel to be aligned with other mobile and wireless technology innovators in order to drive the proliferation of anywhere, anytime computing."
