- PRESS RELEASE
Jumeirah International, the award winning Dubai based hospitality company, announced the development of a luxury apartment complex due for completion in summer 2007.
Jumeirah International's Bill Walshe said "We are looking forward to the completion of this exciting project in 2007. We anticipate a rush for what will become the best residential address in the heart of Dubai and are ready to start taking preliminary enquiries now."
The World Trade Centre Hotel originally opened its doors for the first time in March 1978 as the Hilton Hotel. It rapidly became one of Dubai's favorite 5 star properties and is fondly remembered by many of Dubai's residents and visitors as being amongst their first experiences of modern Dubai.
Jumeirah International would like to thank the guests of the hotel, many of whom stayed frequently over the years, as well as Dubai based patrons for their past custom and look forward to continue welcoming them to Jumeirah International hotels in Dubai. We would also like to pay tribute to all the members of staff who have worked in the hotel since opening and who have contributed to making it such a success.
Jumeirah International confirmed that the hotel will close on May 15th 2004, and that all staff had been offered alternative positions in Jumeirah International Hotels.

The company's latest expansion is the unique resort development Madinat Jumeirah. Enhancing Dubai's reputation as one of the world's most idyllic destinations, the 100-acre resort will offer the ultimate Arabian experience against the setting of a highly luxurious, world-class, multi-facility resort. Madinat Jumeirah will include two grand boutique hotels and clusters of 382 rooms and suites all featuring authentic architecture reflecting the heritage and culture of Dubai and the Arabian region. Mina A' Salam, the Gateway to Madinat Jumeirah, the Arabian Resort, Dubai has opened in September 2003 and will be followed by the complete resort in summer 2004.
