Dubai garden & landscaping market booms

Anyone currently driving around Dubai cannot escape noticing the building boom that will see hundreds of billions of Dirhams being spent on new housing developments, apartment blocks, hotels, leisure facilities, office developments shopping malls and even islands over the next 5 years.
Projects such as Dubai Land will require vast amounts of landscaping, as will of course the Palm Islands and the World Projects. Add to this new Golf Courses and Park facilities and it is not surprising that it is currently estimated that over Dirhams 60 Billion is expected to be spent on gardens and landscaping over the next 5 years.
By 2010 forecasts for Dubai suggest:
New homes, apartments, hotels and clubs will see as many as 5,000 new swimming pools being built
The number of new houses currently being built will require over 5 Million square metres of lawns to be laid.
The spend on garden furniture will be nearly 120 Million Dirhams.
The spend on Barbecues will be over 37 Million Dirhams.
The spend on paving stones, ornamental stones and decking for all types of developments will exceed 210 Million Dirhams.
The Garden, Landscaping & Outdoor Living Exhibition has been created to satisfy the huge product needs for this rapidly developing market.
This new showcase will include products such as garden and landscaping tools, irrigation systems, garden furniture, landscape features, pools and fountains, swimming pools, paving, stones and decking, garden lighting, barbecues, pots and ornaments, grass and plants.
Geoff Dickinson, Managing Partner of the event organisers Epoc Messe Frankfurt stated, "We have had an excellent reaction to this new event and we will be hosting exhibitors from all of the world as well as leading big brand names such as Fiskars through their local agents Al Fajer and Toro through their regional agents Hydroturf. We believe that this exhibition will help to satisfy the growing demand in the market that is currently expanding by more than 12% per year."
Garden, Landscaping & Outdoor Leisure will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre between May 16 - 19 and it will be open to the trade only between 10am and 1pm and 5pm to 9pm daily.
