The event, being managed by The Churchill Group, will host end-user corporations and business continuity solution providers from the Middle East region and abroad. As a part of its participation package, ComGuard will invite Steve Crutchley, chief security officer and co-founder of 4FrontSecurity, a world leading security consultancy.

"Business Continuity Management (BCM) should be a fit for purpose, business-owned and driven activity that unifies a broad spectrum of business and management disciplines, including crisis management, risk management and technology recovery, and should not be linked to information technology (IT) disaster recovery," said Crutchley. "BCM is directly linked to corporate governance and establishes good management practices."

Crutchley is responsible for shaping 4FrontSecurity's corporate strategy in the worldwide information security marketplace and ensuring the firm's security competencies, industry analysis and ongoing research efforts with emerging technologies. Crutchley brings to this role his extensive experience in business and information security management as well as in-depth knowledge of the International security industry. Steve has over 35 years of experience in information technology; with more than 17 years experience in Information Security, combined with an extensive knowledge of the industrial, commercial, government and financial sectors.

Since 1988, Crutchley's former security services firm deployed secure information systems for dozens of clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is a specialist in security strategies; policies; architectures; intrusion detection; content management and public-key infrastructure (PKI). Steve brings additional experience in corporate business development, sales and marketing and executive management. Steve was educated in the UK, and is a certified BS 7799 Lead Auditor.

"BCM establishes a strategic and operational framework to implement organizations resilience to disruption, interruption or loss of supplying it products and services," said Herbert Kamensky, ComGuard's managing director. "BCM is a core competency at ComGuard that requires planning across many facets of an organization; therefore its resilience depends equally on management and operational staff, as well as technology and requires a holistic approach to be taken when establishing a BCM program."

Steve Crutchley's session will introduce the British Standards Institute PAS 56 approach and management assistance to Business Continuity Management and shows how to understand and implement a BCM program. Upon completion the attendees will be able to assess the application and stages of the PAS 56 guideline within their own organizations determining whether the capability meets the nature, scale, complexity, geography, criticality of their business activities. It also provides a generic framework and guideline for BCM.
