Clyde & Co's 8 new partners makes 15 partner additions in the last year - two join the Middle East Regional Office

International law firm Clyde & Co has appointed 8 new partners with effect from the first week of May 2004 across its international network.

This brings our total new partner appointments over the last 12 months to 15. The total number of partners at Clyde & Co has risen to 120.

Abhi Jalan is based in the firm's Middle East Regional Office. He is qualified to practice in India, England and Canada (Ontario), and brings with him more than seven years experience working in India on numerous significant transactions for both private and public companies. He has represented and advised Fortune 500 clients in connection with corporate work, which includes high profile tender offers, takeover bids, public offerings and projects. His appointment enhances Clyde & Co's capabilities to assist clients from India and Pakistan, and those with inward and outward investments in these countries.

Based in the firm's Middle East Regional Office in Dubai, Michael Grose is a construction and projects specialist. He joined in 1998 and has acted for contractors, consultants and owners on many of the region's largest infrastructure and commercial development projects. This appointment reflects the success of one of Clyde & Co's largest overseas offices, and the firm's commitment to its future growth in the region.

In the UK, Tim Crosley joined Clyde & Co's corporate tax team last year from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He has extensive experience in all areas of corporate tax work, both domestic and cross-border, and has also advised on specialist and structured finance for banks and corporates.

Gareth Lewis represents part of the aviation team that recently joined from CMS Cameron McKenna. Representing aviation insurers, airlines and manufacturers worldwide, he deals with disaster claims, general aviation, product liability, contractual disputes, patent disputes, personal injury claims and policy coverage issues.

Gloria Jones joined the firm's Hong Kong office in 1993. Prior to this, she worked with the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, where she rose to the rank of Chief Inspector. Gloria specialises in insurance litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, employees' compensation, life insurance, motor liability, public liability, performance bonds, medical negligence and claims for contribution/indemnity amongst insurers.

Rozenn Lopin joined Clyde & Co's Paris office in 1997. A shipping and transport litigator, she specialises in cargo recovery matters and charterparty disputes, principally for clients in France. Rozenn frequently appears before all jurisdictions in France including the ICC and Maritime Arbitration Chamber.

Tim Brymer (aviation) and Juliette Stevens (insurance and reinsurance run-off) have also joined, and are the subject of separate media releases.
