Toshiba computer distributors gather in Dubai

More than 25 delegates from nine countries will attend the regional conference of Toshiba's computer systems division in Dubai this week.

This will be the biggest get-together of distributors in Toshiba's Middle East history and underlines the rapid growth of the company's wholesale and retail network across the region.

Countries represented are UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.

The conference takes place at the Fairmont Hotel on May 13.

Representing the UAE is Al Futtaim Technologies, a member of Al Futtaim Group of Companies which has branches across the Emirates and distributes Toshiba notebooks to six Tier-1 and 45 Tier-2 dealers.

Speakers include Yasuyoshi Matsunaga, managing director of Toshiba Gulf, Lars Goetzsche, general manager of Toshiba Europe Computer Systems Distribution Business division and Alan Thompson, vice-president - Sales, Toshiba Europe who will analyse the general business situation in the region.

The acting regional manager Matthias Blank will present the Middle East market results for Q1'04 along with the marketing outlook of Toshiba Computer Systems for the remainder of 2004.
